Connect Your Home Becomes a Silver Sponsor in the “Over the Hump” Mountain Bike Race Series
Connect Your Home has just become a silver sponsor of Orange County’s “Over the hump” mountain bike race series, which consists of a 12 races. Over the Hump Mountain Bike Race Series kicked off their inaugural season in 2009 with 2 initial races that both sold out very quickly. The fire was lit and in 2010 they had 12 races with a total of 1,500 people racing. “Over the Hump” started the race in hopes of providing a fun, relaxed event for everyone to enjoy. They designed their course to challenge all different levels of riders, and give all of them a place to experience the joy and excitement that comes with mountain bike racing. By becoming a silver sponsor of Orange County’s “Over the Hump” mountain bike race series, Connect Your Home will be supporting a local mountain biking event on a weekly basis over the summer months. By supporting this race series, Connect Your Home is striving to continue and encourage involvement in our internal Wellness Program by providing discounted entry fees for employees that choose to participate.
Connect Your Home implemented its internal Wellness Program Challenge in February, where it awarded three employees who decreased their BMI the most with cash prizes. While that contest has ended, Connect Your Home continues to strive for a healthy work and life atmosphere for all employees that choose to be involved. Connect Your Home also participated recently in the Knott’s Berry Farm Annual 5k Coaster Run back in March. At least five employees are expected to join the first couple of “Over the Hump” races with many more that will hopefully join.
“As an avid mountain biker myself, I thought that the “Over the Hump” race series would be a great opportunity to introduce our brand to a local audience, while providing support to our employees who choose to be a part of the Connect Your Home Wellness Program,” said Vice President of Marketing, Michael Ryan Grier. “I am looking forward to getting back on the bike with my peers in a fun and challenging experience outside of the office.”
The first race is set to take place on May 22nd and the last race of the series will be held on August 28th. Each race is on a Tuesday evening every week for 12 weeks.
