Results of the PriceGrabber and Experian holiday shopping survey have just been released. According to the survey, 39 percent of consumers have shopping-related apps on a Smartphone, 26 percent do not and 35 percent do not own a Smartphone. 84 percent of the consumers who have shopping-related apps indicated that they plan to use their apps to help save money when they are purchasing their gifts this holiday season. Out of the consumers that have Smartphone’s the survey found that 42 percent of them planned to download new shopping apps on their phones, strictly for holiday shopping purposes. Among those polled 70 percent of them said they planned on downloading comparison-shopping apps, closely followed by 65 percent of shoppers who will download coupon apps and 62 percent that will download price check apps with the ability to scan barcodes.
“Following the higher-than-expected success of Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year, we aren’t surprised to see a meaningful percentage of consumers planning to spur retailers with another round of shopping closer to Christmas,” commented Graham Jones, general manager of PriceGrabber. “We expect that shoppers will stay on top of last-minute incentives and price drops that are certainly on the horizon in the coming weeks via the internet and mobile shopping applications like PriceGrabber, which has already experienced over 1.5 million downloads across the iPhone, Android, and iPad.” Here is a list of apps that will help you on your shopping adventures this holiday season:

 Gift List (99 cents): This app helps you track what you’ve purchased and what you still need to buy. Also helps you keep an eye on what you spend.

 Shop Savvy: An easy download that not only allows you to scan bar codes, it will also show you nearby retailers and even give you directions to the store.

 Price Check by Amazon: You can take a picture of an item without even having to scan the barcode. You can speak into the app and say I want this and it searches the entire web and says this is the item and here are the available retailers and competitive prices.

 Fast Mall: You can download maps to most major shopping centers using this app. It will help you map routes to your favorite stores.

 Lemon: Allows you to take photos of all your receipts and then offers a way to catalog them. No need to sort through a box of slips; just print and return.

 Sale Saver: A handy calculator that will do the math for you. Find out what 30percent really means. It also helps calculate sales tax.

 Yowza: This is a coupon-based download that shows you coupons for the stores around you. It also tracks what you save.
