Connect Your Home Launches Paid Summer Internships Program For High School Seniors And College Students

Internships Will Be Held In Five Different Departments At Connect Your Home To Provide Hands On Experience For The Rapidly Growing Company In Orange County

Santa Ana, CA (April 30, 2012) – Connect Your Home plans to launch its first summer internships program to local Orange County college students and graduating high school seniors beginning in June 2012. There are five paid internships available, one for each department, including: sales, marketing, operations, IT, and finance. All internships require a 20 hour commitment per week and will be applied towards classroom credit for any students that are eligible at their school. Students that are selected to be a part of the internship program will get experience in the department they’re interested in learning more about that correlates with their studies in higher education. Students can begin applying online for the internship position of their choice beginning May 6th through May 26th. All applicants selected for the internship program will be notified by June 4th with an official start date on Monday, June 18th. All five interns can expect to participate in departmental and companywide meetings, contribute to new projects, be part of brainstorming sessions, be mentored by an experienced leadership team, and work directly with employees to facilitate day-to-day tasks in a fast paced, but welcoming environment. “My internship at Connect Your Home has been an incredibly valuable experience, and never felt like an average job. There were five different essay prompts from students to choose from on the DISH Systems website in order to be eligible. DISH Systems received more submissions this year than in 2011 when the scholarship program first began, with a total of 170 essays received, making it a competitive scholarship and difficult decision for the panel at DISH Systems. DISH Systems will resume scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors and non graduating college students in 2013. The first place winner, Megan, is a high school senior with plans to attend Evangel University in Missouri. Megan answered a prompt about creating an inspirational TV network with programming that was both informative of global issues while encouraging community service, which landed her the top scholarship of $1,000. With so many stand out essays submitted this year, the panel (made up of one representative from each DISH Systems department, including managers) decided to select a second essay to receive a runner-up prize of $200 in the form of a Visa card. The runner-up essay was submitted by Allison, who will be attending Mississippi State as a freshman this year.
